the first time in paperback. John Maynard Smith reviewed it for New ¾«¶«´«Ã½ on
28 August 1975, p 496. “My first reaction is astonishment at the range of
knowledge Wilson displays,” he wrote. But he doubted that understanding
selective forces would “enable us to settle ethical questions”. Published by
