Cambridge University Press has issued a new paperback edition of The
New Physics edited by Paul Davies (pp 519, £16.99). Nick Herbert
commented in his review of the first edition (Review, 24 June 1989) that
it was ‘an ambitious attempt to make the frontiers of (physics) accessible
to a wider audience. This book succeeds admirably in this goal. I know of
no better one attempt to make the frontiers of (physics) accessible to a
wider audience. This book succeeds admirably in this goal. I know of no
better one-volume guide to the edges of modern physics.
